NVPC's Company of Good
The National Volunteer and Philantropy Centre (NVPC) launched a program for company’s to learn to give better, known as the Company of Good Fellowship program, in May 2017.
The program lasted about 5 months, together with 30 companies from various industries and sizes, but with the common goal of learning to give better. The fellowship and collaboration with other like-minded CSR champions in other companies is a valuable opportunity not often available, but also the content shared within the program also provided a good frame work to establish within our organizations, fundamentall, the 4 I’s framework.
The four "I"s framework guides companies to give well and holistically:
INVESTMENT – how extensively and strategically a company gives
INTEGRATION – how giving is integrated with business functions and supports business interests
INSTITUTIONALISATION – how giving is supported by policies, systems and incentives
IMPACT – how mechanisms have been put in place to measure impact
Having such a framework provides sustainability within the organization plus the network of giving individuals make this program a worthwhile investment.
